The largest children's parade in the nation, the Fred Meyer Junior Parade involves more than 10,000 youngsters who are cheered on by crowds of spectators as they wind their way through the streets of Portland's Hollywood District. Many children (pets, too!) are decked out in colorful costumes as they ride on floats, bikes, trikes, unicycles, wagons, scooters and strollers. Other kids march the route with their families, schools or community groups. And still others dance, drum, sing or skate their way from start to finish.
