The season opening concert of the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra is an affair not to be missed! Maestro Felder and the Orchestra will roll out the red carpets for you on this night of excitement and drama. These great Russian composers wrote music of astonishing color, variety, and structure, and infused a Romantic treatment of music with a new nationalism. Pianist Aviram Reichert, called a "thoughtful and exceptionally musical player" by The New York Times, will impress with his dramatic power and sensitivity of touch.
Harvey Felder, conductor
Aviram Reichert, piano

Rimsky-Korsakov: Overture on Russian Themes
Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, op. 18
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4
