Located just a few blocks south of the Tacoma Amtrak station is the Tacoma's public market, Freighthouse Square, at East 25th Street and East "D" Street.


When the Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad ceased operations in the Pacific Northwest in 1980, its immense Tacoma freighthouse sat neglected. In 1997, the building found new life as Tacoma's public market, Freighthouse Square. Adjacent to Freighthouse Square is the Tacoma Dome Transit Center.


Here you'll find free light rail service to downtown on the Tacoma Link. Once downtown, you'll find shopping, restaurants, hotels and museums.
